ACEPHAP conducts Training of trainer on E-MOTIVE Bundle in Katsina State

The African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) recently conducted the E-MOTIVE Bundle State Training of Trainers (ToT) on the 23rd and 24th of October, bringing together healthcare professionals dedicated to improving maternal and newborn health outcomes. The training, which held under the framework of the Adoption and Implementation of Maternal Newborn Child Nutrition Health (MNCNH) innovation in Nigeria project, aimed to strengthen the capacity of trainers to effectively implement evidence-based interventions in their respective institutions.

A total of 13 participants took part in the training, drawn from five health facilities across Katsina State. The participants included skilled healthcare professionals actively involved in maternal and newborn care services. The training sessions focused on equipping them with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to cascade the E-MOTIVE Bundle intervention across healthcare facilities in the state.

In addition to the participants from the health facilities, the training featured the participation of one tutor from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, two representatives from the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board (HSMB), and the Head of Nursing Services, Katsina State. Their involvement reinforced the collaborative and multidisciplinary approach adopted to ensure sustainability and effective implementation of the E-MOTIVE Bundle within the healthcare delivery system.

The E-MOTIVE Bundle initiative represents a strategic effort to address maternal health challenges, particularly postpartum hemorrhage, through early detection and timely management. By building the capacity of trainers at the state level, ACEPHAP continues to advance its mission of improving population health outcomes through innovative research, evidence-based interventions, and partnerships that strengthen healthcare systems across Nigeria.
