Community Bundle Project: ACEPHAP, partners meet for Implementation and Evaluation Review
The Community Bundle Project Team recently conducted high-level advocacy and sensitization visits to the Sarkin Aliero, Umar Dodo Aleiro and Sarkin Jega, Alh Muhammad Arzika in Kebbi State, alongside their Hakimai and traditional councils, as part of pre-implementation engagement in our project areas.
In regions where home births remain high, traditional leaders are not just stakeholders — they are catalysts for change. Their influence is vital in promoting trust, encouraging facility-based care, and driving community ownership.
In their various remarks, the two community leaders explained that the improvement of maternal health in the communities depend on strong support systems and collaboration. They appreciated the visit and assured their commitment to the success of the project, for better health of mothers and babies in the community.
The Community Bundle Project is a multi-state initiative focused on accelerating the decline of maternal mortality in Nigeria by preventing major causes such as: malaria in pregnancy, anemia, pre-eclampsia and eclampsia and maternal sepsis.
By engaging respected community gatekeepers, we are laying the foundation for sustainable, culturally aligned interventions that protect mothers and save lives.
Maternal deaths are preventable — and partnership is the pathway to prevention.
