ACEPHAP team pays courtesy visit to BUK Vice-Chancellor
Prof. Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, the Director of ACEPHAP, and herteam paid a courtesy visit to the new Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Prof. Haruna Musa FSI, on 22nd September 2025 at his office. The team was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers.
Prof. Galadanci, in her remarks, stated that the visit was to congratulate the new Vice-Chancellor for assuming office as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the great citadel of learning and inform him about the achievements of the center since its establishment.
Prof. Galadanci highlighted that the center was established to mainly address the problems identified by SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being. She then narrated some of the major achievements of the center since its establishment. She prayed for God’s assistance in his affairs so that he can make the university the best in academics and research nationally and internationally. She also expressed her optimism that the Vice-chancellor will achieve his mission and leave a great legacy for the university community.
In his remarks, Prof. Musa expressed his delight with the visit. He applauded the director for her commendable work in maternal health in the country. He said, “I am happy with the immense contributions by ACEPHAP to improve the visibility and the name of the university worldwide.”
He assured the team that his administration has a robust blueprint and is willing to support ACEPHAP and CDA with many options for sustainability. He said the university will also launch a unit soon, dedicated to overseeing international students and faculty. Again, the university will also strengthen intergovernmental partnerships to attract international students, which will increase the ranking of the university globally.
One of the notable efforts his administration will make is to reprioritize research for policy and commercialization in line with developments around the world. “With the support of ACEPHAP we can achieve this target,” he said.
Both parties expressed optimism for a future marked by innovation, sustainability, and global recognition for Bayero University Kano (BUK).
