Communicating Impact: ACEPHAP communication team participates in Communication Strategy Workshop

In order to amplify the impactful research and innovative activities done by ACE centers and other World Bank-supported projects, the National Universities Commission (NUC) organized a three-day Communication Strategy Workshop for Communication Officers. Alongside other communication officers from around Nigeria and over 15 projects, ACEPHAP communication officer and specialist participated in the workshop to learn better how to communicate innovations in health for effective policy formulation.

ACEPHAP, other ACE Centers participate in the Launch of African Centers of Excellence Alliance and Compendium of Achievements

African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) and other ACE centers have participated the launch of the African Centers of Excellence (ACE) Alliance and the Compendium of Achievements which marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s higher education and research landscape. The event brought together distinguished personalities from academia, government, development agencies, and industry to celebrate the successes of the ACE initiative and chart a sustainable future for its achievements.

ACEPHAP research fellow and other public health experts present abstracts at CPHIA 2025

Samira Gwarzo, an Associate Research Fellow at the African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), joined other public health experts in presenting abstracts at the 2025 International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) held in Durban, South Africa. Speaking under the theme “Moving Towards Self-Reliance to Achieve Universal Health Coverage and Health Security in Africa,” she presented her research on “Genomic Markers of Malaria Resistance,” which examines genetic factors influencing malaria resistance in African populations.

ACEPHAP team pays courtesy visit to BUK Vice-Chancellor

On 22nd September 2025, the Director of ACEPHAP, Prof. Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, led her team on a courtesy visit to the new Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Prof. Haruna Musa, to congratulate him on his appointment and share the center’s achievements since inception. During the meeting, Prof. Galadanci reaffirmed ACEPHAP’s commitment to addressing health challenges in line with SDG 3, while expressing optimism for the Vice-Chancellor’s success. In response, Prof. Musa commended ACEPHAP’s contributions to maternal health and the university’s global visibility, assuring the team of his administration’s support through sustainable initiatives, research prioritization, and strategies to enhance BUK’s global ranking.
