OB-GYN TRANSFORMING MATERNAL HEALTHCARE IN NIGERIA  🩺

Prof. Hadiza Galadanci’s work has played a pivotal role in reducing maternal and child mortality rates and combatting gender disparities in health.

The African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) has commenced activities for its project titled Making Cesarean Section Safe in Kano with a successful introductory meeting. The session brought together key stakeholders to familiarize them with the project objectives, which focus on improving the safety and quality of cesarean sections across health facilities in Kano State.

The African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital is currently holding an intensive simulation training program aimed at strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals.

Professor Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, the Director of the Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), chaired a stakeholder meeting yesterday, Tuesday, July 9th 2025, on the necessity for data alignment between the Kano State Surveillance for Evidence and Policy (KASSEP) and other government agencies working on maternal and child data.

The African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) has successfully concluded its scale-up training on the E-MOTIVE initiative in Gombe State. The final session of the training took place on Thursday, June 3rd, 2025, at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.

The African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) is proud to participate in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) World Congress 2025, currently underway at ExCeL London, United Kingdom. The Centre’s Director, Professor Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, and a Research Fellow from the Centre, Dr. Aminu Wakili, are attending this prestigious global event, which runs from June 23 to 25, 2025.

Prof. Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, the director of African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) Bayero University Kano and AlignMNH Steering Committee Member has last month, attended the 78th World Health Assembly.
