Kano State Surveillance for Evidence and Policy (KASSEP) has trained Kano South and Central Senatorial Zone Surveillance Supervisors, Scribes and WDC Chairmen at the premises of ACEPHAP from 2nd to 3rd September, 2025.

KASSEP trains North Senatorial Zone Surveillance Supervisors, Scribes and WDC Chairmen

Kano State Surveillance for Evidence and Policy (KASSEP), a project at ACEPHAP, has conducted a training for Kano North Senatorial Zone Surveillance Supervisors, Scribes and Ward Development (WDC) Chairmen. The session took place on August 28th, 2025, at the premises of ACEPHAP, bringing together participants from the different local government areas in the North Senatorial Zone of the state.

Making Cesarean Section Safe: ACEPHAP and Global Surgery Foundation pay courtesy visit to Emir of Kano

African Centre for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), the Global Surgery Foundation team and the participants of Making Cesarean Section Safe Project have paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at his palace on 27th August 2025. The visit was to inform the Emir about the project, which was recently launched in the state with a focus to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality associated with cesarean section in 10 project facilities in Kano State.

ACEPHAP in collaboration with Global Surgery Foundation launches Safe Cesarean Section project in Kano State

The African Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) in collaboration with the Global Surgery Foundation based in Geneva, has on 20th April, 2025, officially launched the Safe Cesarean Section Project in Kano State. The aim of the project is to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality associated with Cesarean Section in 10 project facilities in Kano State.

Advancing the Future of Population Health: ACEPHAP presents at WACP 49th AGSM in Kano

Prof. Taiwo Amole and Prof. Baba Maiyaki Musa represented the Africa Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) at the 49th Annual General and Scientific Meeting (AGSM) 2025, organised by the West African College of Physicians (WACP), Nigeria Chapter, in Kano State. ACEPHAP joins Stakeholders at RMNCAH and NTWG Second Quarter Meeting

The African Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) has last week participated in the second quarter meeting of the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAH) and the Malaria Technical Working Group (NTWG). The meeting, which brought together key stakeholders from across the health sector, served as a platform to assess progress, share updates, and strengthen collaboration among partners working to improve health outcomes in Nigeria.

Gynaecological Skills Training: ACEPHAP, RCOG, experts push for National Scale-up

Prof. Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, the Director of Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), has emphasized that Gynaecological Skills Training has the potential of saving more lives. She made this known during the Essential Gynaecological Skills (EGS) Manuals Dissemination Workshop which was held on Monday, 21st July, 2025 at Abuja.

The session brought together key stakeholders to familiarize them with the project objectives, which focus on improving the safety and quality of cesarean sections across health facilities in Kano State.
